Current and historical data on students are compiled through the KDU OUR.idea. OUR.idea is a fully integrated software product that is used for the purposes of administering an Educational Enterprise. It is the acronym for Online Unified Resource idea. An acronym put together because of the intention of making the system assimilated into the operations of the educational institution.

The system is made up of the following components

OUR.security - This portion of the system puts together the security component so that there is management of security for the entire system. The security is managed to the level of the field so that individual users are able to access relevant items only.

OUR.student - This is the extensive portion of the system that includes the SLM that was described earlier. Key components of this are to manage student personal details, programme registrations, subject registrations.

OUR.bursary - This portion of the system is also important for the purposes of ensuring that collections are clearly put in place. The billing perspectives are mainly taken care of by OUR.student however there are capabilities in this section of the system that allow for manual billing for other types of items. It also has access to managing credit notes.

OUR.learning - This portion has access to an online learning delivery platform that allows for delivery of learning content to the students.

OUR.academic - At this area of the system, access to marks input down to individual items is managed. The transcripts produced from the system are extracted from this information.

OUR.time - This portion of the system is created to manage the timetabling of the various subjects in the system. It must be understood that the system only manages clash management of the time tabling and not the process of automating the creation of timetables.

OUR.attendance - Tightly linked to the OUR.time, this portion provides the reporting of attendance.
