The first ever Food Fest organized by the Grapevine Society in KDU's auditorium on 14th September 2006 was a roaring success, and dubbed "The Premier Event of the Year." The one day food fest saw strong participation from both SHTCA students and lecturers. All SHTCA students had to come up with their own mouthwatering menus and ingenious decorations for their individual stalls. The Premier Event was aimed at harnessing entrepreneurship and enhancing culinary skills
among students apart from raising funds for the prom night.

Starting from the prep day (short term for preparation)on Wednesday, kitchens were swarming with hotel and chef students busy preparing their gourmet dishes. Meanwhile, in the auditorium, the artistic side of SHTCA's students was displayed as they put up decorations for their individual stalls.

The Food Fest kicked off at 10am with the arrival of Dr. Chia, the CEO of KDU and Miss Kitty, the Head of School. On that day itself, a coupon booklet of RM10 had to be purchased in advance. By mid day, the auditorium was already jam packed with food lovers from all over the college. Food was quickly sold out due to the crowd being much larger than expected.

While savoring their food, the crowd was entertained with delightful performances by the SHTCA students. The event, a fusion of fun and food, was officially over by 3pm yet the burger sellers were scrambling for more buns to meet hungry customers. The overwhelming positive response from customers who demanded more food fest attested to the gourmet skill of our students.
