My journey into Hospitality started way before college as I have always wanted to be in the service line. Right after my SPM with the advice of my neighbor who was then a KDU Hospitality student, I signed up for the Diploma in Hotel and Catering Diploma also known as Hot Cat. As it has been said that the best years of our lives are those in college, this was very true. The program developed me academically where as the friends that I made and activities were development at a personal level.
Upon the completion of the diploma I then entered into the Hotel Industry, the duties of the front office of an international standard hotel in Kuala Lumpur had its fair share of challenges and fun. It was during that time that I contemplated on furthering my studies for a degree and this I did, with Middlesex University in London. It was best years of my life Part 2.
With the degree in hand, I came back and ventured into teaching, I started in a local institution that taught hospitality studies and after over 2 years of service I left as the deputy head of the department. I was offered a position that was too good to resist. This was to joint my alta mater (Kdu College), which I did on the 2nd January 2001 as a lecturer. During my time here at Kdu College I have completed my MBA and was appointed the Academic Department Head of Teaching and Learning for the School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts.
