Swiss Culinary Competition!

The Swiss week is back! The Embassy of of Switzerland together with KDU University College's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts whipped out a culinary competition on 8th October 2012. This gives the students the chance to showcase their culinary skills and talent, thus, exposing them to the real-life challenge in preparing a starter or soup, followed by a main course with a Swiss element to ,meet the internationally recognized standards of the culinary industry.

Be Hip! Go Bald for Cancer!

A total of 33 individuals comprising both lecturers and students from various countries went bald for cancer in aid of the Home of Hope at the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM). The fundraising campaign was carried out by students enrolled in the Corporate Social Responsibility module at the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 10th October 2012.

Power Chef Teacher's Edition 2012!

You have probably heard of the Power Chef Competition, organized annually by KDU and KDU School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts. However, the competition is organized for secondary school students. This time around, a new twist is in. The Power Chef Competition took on a whole new level and organized the Power Chef Competition Teacher's Edition! This is Malaysia's fist ever Culinary competition for school teachers, as well as KDU's very first time organizing this. The competition took place at KDU University College, Damansara Jaya campus on 29th September 2012.

Ramadhan Orphans Project 2012!

First of all, we from KDU University College, would like to congratulate the Events Operations and MICE students from SHTCA (School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts)! Purpose? They have successfully raised RM 6092.85 from all their hard work, tears and sweat. The collected sum will be donated towards the orphans and and single mothers of Rumah Baitul Amal Kasih, Bukit Rahman Putra. Hampers and "Duit Raya" (Green packet) was also given to home during a "Buka Puasa" dinner.

SHTCA International Food Fest 2012

Most spent Labour Day (1st of May) relaxing at home with family, or recovering from a night out with friends – It was a public holiday after all. In KDU however, the students from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) spent the day and the following days in the kitchens preparing for the KDU's International Food Festival which took place on the 3rd of May at the Damansara Jaya Campus.
