This year the prom took place in the Sultan’s Ballroom of Le Meridien Hotel. Grapevine and their respective lecturers had planned the event, reheared performances and organized for months to make it a memorable night. Also, they had pre-elected the six final candidates to compete for the title of "Mr. & Ms. SHTCA". A memorable night it truely was!
However, for all those who could not come, here a short account of the evening.
The opening speeches were held by Ms. Tan Li Li, Grapevine President and Ms Kitty, Head of SHTCA. Their welcome addresses were short and sweet and soon after all were introduced to the six finalists, who performed - with four additional dancers - the opening dance. They had practiced and trained for one intensive month under Mr. Latchman.
The MCs, both dedicated representatives from Grapevine Student Council, Julian and Shar Mayn guided through the night, and whilst the guests could now indulged in an eight-course sumptuous Chinese set dinner, various rounds of lucky draws and the individual performance of the six candidates kept them entertained. During a Q&A session, the competitors had to demonstrate that, besides artistic talents, they where also up to date with current political and environmental issues.
One long awaited highlight, however, was the prize presentation of the International Food Fest 2009, which was held in May. Naturally, all students where eager to learn, whether their class could take home a cheque in one of the three categories. Here they are:

Meanwhile, our six finalists were also anxiously waiting for the moment of truth, the crowning of Ms & Mr SHTCA 2009.
They had danced, performed, sang and all did very well. But it were Ms. Yakin from PCT8 and Mr Sharmaan from BA1A who were awarded the glamorous title of Ms & Mr SHTCA 2009.

Clement, our Grapevine Student Council representative, marked the perfect finishing of the eventful night with his closing performance. And this is when the dance floor was opened and we kicked off to party all night long.
